Insurance Company of Africa observes 55th Anniversary

The Insurance Company of Africa (ICA) marked its 55th anniversary with a grand celebration.

During the celebrations in Monrovia, serving as president of the Liberian Insurance Association and Governing Council member of the West African Insurance Companies’ Association, Madam Ethel Knuckles expressed gratitude for the support the company has received over the years.

“It has been a long, amazing, and fun journey, sometimes frustrating, but overall, it has been a wonderful year; all thanks to our staff and customers, but firstly, I tip my hat to our staff and agents who work diligently in the trenches. I raise my glass to you all and wish you continued success,” she said.

The newly inducted president of the Liberia Insurance Association (LIA) has called on insurers to play their role and ensure that the sector stands ready when called upon to support economic growth in Liberia.

According to Ethel V. Knuckles, president of the LIA, the association needs to prioritize training in order to be on par with their regional and international colleagues.

She is currently the managing director of the Insurance Company of Africa, the longest-serving insurance company in Liberia, providing vehicle and health insurance services.

Community Health Screening Vaccination Campaign Launched

The Liberia Insurance Association (LIA), in partnership with Wellness Partners Clinic (WPC), has launched a community health screening and vaccination campaign in Monrovia.

The initiative, which was held recently at the WPC compound in Monrovia, was intended to address COVID concerns in the country.

“We want to let you know that we care about you people,” Dr. Nicole Cooper, WPC Medical Director, said at the launch of the event. “Through this campaign, we want to reach out to the communities for them to know that as Insurance Companies and a Clinic, we do care about them.”

ICA awards scholarships to performing female students

As part of its corporate social responsibility, the Insurance Company of Africa (ICA) has awarded scholarships to the two best performing female students from William V.S. Tubman High and G. W Gibson High School, respectively.

Both Mamaka Kromah of G. W Gibson and Loretha Larmie of Tubman High were selected from their various schools by their various schools as best performing students with the highest averages, respectively.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the ICA, Madam Ethel V. Knuckles disclosed that awarding the students the scholarship is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

She said the team of ICA staffers went to the two schools’ senior high level to view the grades of all the students and later realized that both Mamaka Kromah and Lerotha were the two students with the highest grade point, something she said qualified the students to win the scholarship from the company.
