Madam Ethel V. Knuckles was appointed as Insurance Company of Africa’s Chief Executive Officer July 2022. Ethel previously served as a Resident Director on ICA’s Board of Directors, from 2018-2022.
Madam Knuckles holds a Bachelors in Liberal Arts from Brooklyn College, New York City and a Masters in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University, Georgia, U.S.A.
Prior to her appointment, she served as the Chief Financial Officer at International Bank (Liberia) Limited for the past ten years. At IBLL, she was responsible for financial planning & analysis, general management, insurance management, regulatory engagement and strategy. Ethel successfully spearheaded two consecutive Three-Year Strategic Plans during a marked period of growth at IB.
Madam Knuckles has a demonstrated track record in financial management, marketing management, and strategy implementation. She has been honored with a Distinguished Leadership Award from her alma mater, Kennesaw State University.
She serves on the Boards of the JWF Sherman Memorial Institute, Seys United Methodist Church, Liberia United Methodist Empowerment Foundation, the Liberia Insurance Association, and as Executive Director for the ICA Board.
Charles Nana Kofi Amoako joined Insurance Company of Africa in 2021
He is a dedicated Chartered Insurance Practitioner with more than 15 years’ working experience with a strong commitment to policy interpretations, risk and data analysis, portfolio and retention management, cost - reduction strategies, and customer service management.
After obtaining a diploma in insurance from the West African Insurance Institute, The Gambia, he entered the insurance industry in 2007 at Enterprise Insurance Company Limited and held various positions in the company until he was appointed the Head of Public and Emerging Risk in 2017.
Eric Cassell is a well-versed financial professional and accounting technology expert with demonstrated history of working in the accounting industry.
He holds a Bachelors in Accountancy from the Cuttington University in Suakoko, Bong County and an MBA with concentration in Accounting from the Atlantic International University in Hawaii, Honolulu.
He also holds various professional certificates including Strategic Leadership, IFRS, IPSAS, Project Management and has served as Lead Consultant deploying accounting software for multiple businesses including insurance companies in Liberia.
Eric was employed with the Insurance Company of Africa in March 2020 and later appointed in January 2022 as Comptroller.
Before then, he was a former Managing Director of K3 Telecom Liberia and also served as Comptroller for Nexium Petroleum Limited.
Eric also worked as Budget and Planning Manager at the General Auditing Commission at the same time playing a role as European Union 11EDF Imprest Accountant at the Commission
